CSP constructed the first cook stoves in Chaimmale and Baadbhyang in 2013. Since that time, we have installed more than 1600 clean stoves that have benefited about 6500 individuals. A massive earthquake in 2015 destroyed thousands of homes and disrupted the work of CSP but we were able to make a contribution to the relief efforts by installing “rocket stoves,” simpler, smaller versions of the cook stove, for displaced families.
Since 2013, the Cookstove Project (CSP) has been introduced to 51 villages in Uganda, primarily in the districts of Mukono and Nakasongola. The project involves 14 committed cookstove masters who work as the main contact persons in the communities. CSP is now installing clean cookstoves at a rate of 200 per month.
